"We want to celebrate and lift everyone's heritage and we indeed have many stories literally from most of the corners of the world," Pablo Obregon tells the West Central Tribune.

Obregon is the director of community growth for the city of Willmar, Minn., and one of the organizers of the first Willmar International Heritage Day, scheduled for Thursday.

The free event will feature a parade of flags, cultural arts, and entertainment, as well as a special presentation by JUSTMove, whose performances seek to inspire conversations about race and culture, the Tribune reports.

"We hope that by coming together we create a wonderful space to share music, food, dance, values, and life journeys," Obregon says.

The parade of flags will serve as a reminder of the many nationalities of area residents or from where their family members migrated.

JUSTMove will be performing throughout the event, sharing ideas and inviting people to celebrate the community and its diversity.

There will be free samples of ethnic treats while supplies last. Read the Entire Article
