Explora offers STEAM camps to educate children throughout New Mexico

"They don't want it to be boring."

That's how Tara Henderson describes the staff of the Explora Science Center and Children's Museum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who go above and beyond to make their STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) camps interesting and fun for kids in kindergarten through 12th grade, KOAT reports.

"The idea behind the camps is to really take a deeper dive into a specific topic area or content area," says Victoria Roanhorse of the Coalition for Science Learning in Early Childhood.

"So we might be doing something around STEM and agriculture, and looking at soil health, or we're looking at robotics and you're looking to code."

Henderson, the museum's director of education, says the staff "think outside the box."

"They want to make it an interesting topic," she says.

"They don't want it to be boring."

Explora's STEAM camps are offered during times when school is out of session and are geared toward kids in Pro-K through 12th grade. Read the Entire Article
