Students at a Virginia K-12 school are getting a lot more than a college degree this year.
The Roanoke Times reports on Waynewood Elementary School's " Portrait of a Graduate" lab, a place where students work on "critical and creative thinking skills and practicing collaboration."
Students work on " intricate problems and puzzles designed to stretch their cognitive boundaries," according to the school's blog.
"Transforming our lab into a haven for creativity, students are encouraged to unleash their imagination," the blog states.
One student created a pixel art project using Google Slides, another worked on an online museum about ladybugs, and a third did a version of The Three Little Pigs to demonstrate their knowledge of animals and habitats.
All of which led to this year's graduate.
