Thanks to a one-time $5 million appropriation from the state of Arizona, 367 nonprofit arts organizations across the state will be getting a check for more than $5 million, the Arizona Republic reports.
According to a press release, the Arizona Commission for the Arts awarded $5,425,146 in grants to a wide range of organizations, from world-class museums to rural arts centers.
"These funds are distributed throughout the state as grants, but also in the form of community programs and services that contribute to the growth and stabilization of Arizona's arts sector, enhance student learning, nurture artists' creative and professional development, and preserve the traditions of Arizona communities," the commission says.
