Three women in Knox County, Maine, are among the newest members of the Maine Community Foundation's Knox County Grantmaking Committee, which helps recommend grant proposals for the foundation's Community Building Grant Program.

Joelle Albury, Maggi Blue, and Cyndi Prince all live in the county and serve as community members who share their knowledge and leadership with the foundation, which brings people and resources together to build a better Maine through strategic giving, community leadership, personalized service, local expertise, and strong investments, per the foundation's website.

In 2022, the Knox County Fund awarded nine grants totaling $53,307.

The grants support a broad range of projects and organizations across the state, including arts, education, environment, economic development, and human services.

Albury is the outreach and office manager at Maine Coast Heritage Trust and serves on the steering committee of the Knox County Food Council and advisory boards of Knox County Gleaners and Knox-Lincoln 4H Leaders' Association.

Blue is a metalsmith, graphic designer, and the creative director at the Farnsworth Art Museum.

She serves on the board of the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce and volunteers with local organizations, including Area Interfaith Outreach, Mid-Coast School of Technology, and Pope Humane Society.
