Students Chosen As Nebraska Young Artist Award Winners

The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln has announced the 57 winners of this year's Nebraska Young Artist Awards. 11th-grade students from Nebraska who excel in the fields of visual art, performing arts, and cinema and new media are recognized with these prestigious honors. A total of fifty-seven high school students from all throughout the state have been recognized for their achievements. The events originally planned for April 6 have been delayed and spread out because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Between the 25th of March and the 6th of April, students and family will gather on campus in smaller groups to interact with instructors and other students.

Art facilities, a workshop with faculty members, and a chance to see current students at work are all part of the experience for visiting students. The timetable is: Dance on the 25th of March! The 4th of April is a celebration of new media, theater, and the visual arts. April 6th is a day for music. Chris Watson, the college's director of recruiting and supervisor of the awards, stated, "We are pleased to invite students and families back to campus for our 25th year of the Nebraska Young Artist Awards."

"Our teachers are eager to meet and collaborate with these young artists in person.

It's a great opportunity to celebrate the self-expression and connection that everyone needs at this time." Students had to fill out an application and provide a sample of their work in order to be considered.

There were 116 students that applied. Read the Entire Article
