The Lois Lenski Covey Foundation presents a $1,845 grant to the Maria Ulloa Elementary School's library.
The grants will go towards the purchase books with modern subject matter that today's children can relate. Such books will address pressing issues on friendships, peer pressure and bullying. The foundation offers grants to foster a love of reading to disadvantaged communities.
