The California Arts Council announced 1,243 grant awards amounting to $20,823,541 for nonprofits and government units throughout the state of California.
In addition, there are two grant programs that will provide support for local, regional and statewide arts partnerships. The funding will be approved by the Council at its meeting on June 25.
The additional funds will increase the total award amount to a projected $24,508,541 across more than 1,300 grants.
The grants aim to align with the California Arts Council's vision of a state strengthened by a spectrum of art and artists.
Using the grants, there will be new artwork, workshops, events, and classes. It will greatly benefit marginalized communities, veterans, the young and old, and all creatives who wish to form new and valuable expressions of art and produce a more vibrant, artistic, and dynamic society.
