Fifty-six nonprofits in southwestern Oregon have been awarded a grant by the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation. The grant in the total amount of $440,130 is directed towards youth education and community projects in Coos, Deschutes, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Lane counties in Oregon.
Including in the recipients of the grants from Jackson County were: Ashland Family YMCA, Butte Falls Community School Partnership, Community Works, Inc., Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southern Oregon Inc., Crater Foundation, Family Solutions, Jacksonville Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization, Kids Unlimited, Living Opportunities Inc., Maslow Project, Oregon Conservatory of Performing Arts, Rogue River School District and Roots & Wings Community Preschool.
