The Alzheimer's Association's Forget-Me-Not program has a new toy in its arsenal: fidget blankets.
The Madison Hospital in Alabama has received a $2,500 grant from the Huntsville Hospital Foundation to fund more than 90 of the sensory blankets, which "serve as a therapeutic tool to provide sensory stimulation and promote relaxation," per a press release.
They'll be given to patients in the hospital's Alzheimer's unit.
The blankets "are constructed with various textures, colors, and interactive components that provide tactile and visual stimulation," per the release.
They can be zippers or buttons.
The Blankets for Alzheimer's project is one of five grants worth a total of $10,000 awarded by Madison Visionary Partners in 2024, AL.com reports. Read the Entire Article
