Fired in Love: One Couple'S Journey from Clemson'S Pottery Kilns to Entrepreneurship

When Kat Hutter and Roger Lee graduated from Clemson's master of fine arts program in 2006, they didn't think they'd end up in Los Angeles.

"We met at Clemson, so it will always hold a special place in our hearts," says Hutter, who went on to co-own K+R Paint and Clay with Lee.

Now they're making a name for themselves as an LA-based ceramic artist and business owner, People reports.

Their work has been shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Powerhouse Museum of Art, among others.

They've also had a show at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and their work is in the permanent collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the New York Times reports.

They've also had a show at the National Gallery of Art, and their work is in the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art, among others.

"Being an artist is our profession.

The business is how we keep our practice going," Hutter says.
