If you're looking for an alternative high school in Canada, Laureate College may be just the place for you.
The private co-ed school, which is located on a 50-acre property in Burlington, Ontario, is offering its first class of students this fall, the Toronto Star reports.
Laureate was founded by filmmaker and entrepreneur Lindsay Lee, who wanted to create a school where "students acquire the knowledge, skills, and growth that inspires character development, leadership skills, and passion for mastery," per its website.
The 50-acre property includes a historic stone school, a chapel, a performing arts center, a playground, and a playground for kids of all ages.
Laureate students learn in a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) environment, as well as in math, engineering, and physical education.
"We welcome students with their unique cultural heritages, strengths, perspectives, and passions," the school's director of education tells the Star.
"Our students acquire the knowledge, skills, and growth that inspires character development, leadership skills, and passion for mastery."
