The Department of Health and Human Services is teaming up with the National Endowment for the Arts to help Americans live longer, healthier lives, the New York Times reports.
According to a press release, the Interagency Working Group on Arts, Health, and Civic Infrastructure will "foster exchanges of insights and information about arts and cultural resources and strategies across federal agencies, with the goal of helping to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities."
The IWG-AHCI is led by Maria Rosario Jackson, chair of the National Endowment for the Arts, and Xavier Becerra, secretary of the US Department of Health and Human Services.
" arts-based approaches are recommended throughout the Equitable Long Term Recovery and Resilience Plan, an HHS-led initiative spanning multiple agencies and departments," the press release states.
