Seven in 10 Brits Wish They Had Taken More Creative Subjects at School, Study Finds

If you've ever wished you had taken more creative subjects in school, you're not alone.

A new survey of 1,000 Brits aged 18 to 24 found that 72% wish they had taken more creative subjects such as music, PE, art, and design, and that 31% feel they're more creative than academic, the Telegraph reports.

The same number say such subjects would have helped them express themselves and 36% say they would have been more confident if they'd taken more creative subjects.

The survey, commissioned by Hyundai, found that two-thirds (64%) of those polled felt they were pressured into taking more academic subjects, and one in four felt creative or artistic subjects were seen as less useful for their future.

Overall, three-quarters of those polled say the UK's education system is too "one-size fits all," and 85% believe there needs to be greater emphasis on individual learning needs.

The survey also found that one in five of those polled say the subjects they studied at school haven't helped them in their current profession.
