MOCA Dismisses Merger Proposal with LA Modern-Art Museum

The Museum of Contemporary Art turns down an offer to merge with the larger and better-endowed Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

LACMA proposed the union earlier with pledges of $100-million in funds for MOCA. MOCA has been in financial turmoil in recent months. According to sources, billionaire philanthropist Eli Broad, MOCA's principal benefactor, opposed the merger. Read the Entire Article
