Ariel Acosta-Rubio is no stranger to philanthropy.
The Miami businessman and Walmart co-founder has been a board member of the Miami Music Project for the past two years, and this month he was named chairman of the board of trustees, the Miami Herald reports.
"As business leaders in Miami-Dade, we have a unique opportunity to invest in local social initiatives that reflect the values of this land of opportunity," Acosta-Rubio said in a statement.
"It's our responsibility to give back and ensure that the next generation has every chance to succeed."
In 2009, Acosta-Rubio founded Viva La Musica, a program that provides musical training and instruments to community centers in Venezuela, the Herald notes.
