When touring with John Paul White, Speckled Bird, and Belle Adair, Adam Morrow had a lot of free time on his hands.
But that didn't stop the Alabama native from planting a community garden in his hometown of Florence, AL.com reports.
"It really started with me and my wife, Natalie, and our friend Matt Golley, who's in real estate here in town," Morrow says.
"We all shared a love of gardening that existed before the pandemic, but, obviously, we all had a lot more time during that to dig deeper."
One day Golley gave Morrow a piece of land and suggested they put it to use.
"We batted ideas around for months until we thought, what if we do a market garden that is community-facing?" Morrow says.
Kodachrome Gardens grows produce for community residents and local businesses, and a farmstand that suggests prices but operates on a pay-what-you-can basis donates vegetables to agencies such as the Shoals Dream Center, which provides food, clothing, and counseling resources to underserved communities in the area.
