When Brooke Beirute graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in elementary education and a minor in psychology, she didn't expect to end up teaching kids in Costa Rica.
But that's exactly what she's going to do after graduation, the Tulsa World reports.
"Since I am a dual citizen in the USA and Costa Rica, this is an exciting way for me to get to know my family heritage while also applying my majors in Elementary Education and Spanish," the 24-year-old says.
"My classes have not only refined my Spanish, but also my appreciation for literature and culture."
Beirute, who plans to teach English, Science, and the Bible to first and second graders at a Christian school in Costa Rica, says her education and coursework have prepared her for the "practical interactions and pedagogical decisions" she'll have to face daily as a teacher. Read the Entire Article
