"Press freedom, facts-based storytelling, and mediamaking are urgent global issues.

As our information infrastructure becomes more globalized, filmmakers worldwide must have access to resources that can elevate their voices."

So says the International Documentary Association in its call for applications for its Enterprise Documentary Fund and Pare Lorentz Documentary Fund, which together provide more than $500,000 in cash grants to documentary filmmakers.

The deadline for applications is June 25 for non-IDA members and July 9 for members, per the Hollywood Reporter.

The applications will be accepted online at the IDA website starting May 29, 2024.

The fund, named after American documentary filmmaker Pare Lorentz, offers production and post-production grants to be used in the creation of original, independent documentary films that illuminate urgent issues.

The theme for this year's fund is Gender Justice.

The applications will be accepted online at the fund's website here. Read the Entire Article
