Shameik Moore, the actor best known for voicing Miles Morales in the Spider-Man film series, has a new role: He's the face of the Edison Awards.
The Fort Myers, Fla., native will play Thomas Edison's partner, Lewis Latimer, in this year's biopic of the 19th-century inventor, per the Hollywood Reporter.
The award ceremony will take place April 17 at the Hotel Fort Myers, and Moore will be there to accept the award on his own behalf, reports the News-Press.
He'll also be there to accept an award of his own on behalf of the Lewis Latimer Fellowship Program, which aims to help young black inventors.
The program's website describes Latimer as "one of Thomas Edison's principal collaborators" who "helped Edison's vision of a futuristic lightbulb."
