"The goal is that anybody could walk in and create anything that they want to," says Nicole Metz-Andrews, manager of the Camp Verde Community Library's new mobile STEAM lab.
That includes Legos, robotics, and other engineering materials, as well as make-and-take activities for kids.
The 40-foot trailer, which the library has owned for a couple of years, is now being used by AmeriCorps VISTA members, who work in areas affected by poverty by conducting projects in education, public health, and access to benefits, in order to create a sustainable change, per a press release.
AmeriCorps VISTA members perform activities such as research, fundraising, and grant writing.
The library's goal is "to provide interactive, educational but also fun opportunities for children and families," Metz-Andrews says.
The lab will be at community events throughout the year, including the Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival and Corn Fest. Read the Entire Article
