"Among these, the creative industries, mainly performing arts and craft design, stand as unsung heroes in the quest for sustainability," the magazine writes in an op-ed, noting that these industries "hold tremendous potential to mitigate a more environmentally conscious society in the GCC region, where cultural heritage interweaves with modernity."
In fact, the region is home to "a rare combination of rich cultural heritage and modernity," which "can thus help build a greener and more resilient future."
