The Supreme Court of India has ruled that a man's right to bear arms is protected by the Constitution of the United States of America, the AP reports.

Dr. Khushboo Panchal, a renowned Kathak dancer and founder of the Dance Institute Nritya Ratna Youth Icon Award, was awarded the Nritya Ratna Youth Icon Award at the International Performing Arts Festival in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The award is given to "a young artist who has made significant contributions to the field of dance," per a press release.

The 25-year-old Panchal, who has a PhD in Kathak, says she's "honored to receive the Nritya Ratna Youth Icon Award.

This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication have put into my dance journey."

Justice Pankaj Mithal, who was also present at the awards ceremony, said in a statement that the right to bear arms is "fundamental to the Constitution of the United States of America."

He added, "We believe firmly that the future traditional arts and promotion of such arts could be very inviting to the youth."

(The Supreme Court of India has ruled that same right is protected by the Constitution.)
