"There's a saying from a book that I really love," Adam Van Osdel tells KETV.
"The walker doesn't choose the path, the path chooses the walker."
Van Osdel is the creative director of Edge of the Universe, an "immersive cocktail lounge and cafe that replaces pool tables with vines and trees and dartboards" in Omaha, Neb., the Omaha World-Herald reports.
Van Osdel co-founded Edge of the Universe with business partner Rachel Evans in 2020.
"I try to preach that you can choose a path without choosing a path," Van Osdel says.
"The big thing is never stop learning, and just show up."
Edge of the Universe is open from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday and from noon to 5pm on Saturday.
There's a kitchen where people can learn to make pottery, a kiln room where art is displayed, and a cocktail cafe decked out like a Barbie Dream house to honor the release of the Barbie Movie.
There's also a children's museum, an art gallery, a theater studio, and more.
"When you do the work I do you always want to make a safe place for people," Van Osdel says.
