The Dr. Bowie Scholarship Foundation and Grayson County Juvenile Services are teaming up to give young offenders in Texas an opportunity to explore the visual performing arts, KTEN reports.
"It started as a performing arts after-school and summer program," says Barbara Bowie, the foundation's executive director.
"I have been working with kids many years, and I have seen lots of wonderful things happen with that program."
The new program will focus on art, music, drama, dance, and possibly a choir, Bowie says.
"It's a very structured program that allows them to express themselves in whatever way that they are able, so the discipline is the most important thing," she adds. Read the Entire Article
