The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens in Jacksonville, Fla., has a new curator in the form of Dr. Johnnetta Betsch Cole, reports the Florida Times-Union.
Cole is a native of the city, and the museum hopes that by naming its new curator in her honor, she'll help it continue its founder's mission of being a "center of beauty and culture for all," says the museum's CEO.
The $650,000 grant from the Leadership in Art Museums initiative went to the Cummer, one of only 19 museums in the country to receive such a grant.
Cole will be the museum's first curator.

Co-founders William Mann and David Mravyan devised the Sensimat during a mandatory project for their MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business in Canada. Sensimat is a device that helps manage and assess pressure among wheelchair users.
