If you're an artist who works with California folk and traditional arts, you may be in luck: The state's Department of Cultural Affairs is now accepting applications for a five-year, $2 million grant, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
The money is intended to "provide technical assistance/or build capacity of artists in folk and traditional arts organizations in California," according to the department's website.
Specifically, the grants will help "artists develop and build capacity" through "technical assistance building at the local level," as well as "implementing statewide and community-specific engagement strategies."
The Mercury News notes that the money comes from the state's general fund, not its own.
