"Notable bootmaker and brand Timberland has hit the 50th anniversary of one of its iconic shoes."

That's what the company is saying about its Premium 6-inch Waterproof Boot, which was made in 1973 and has become "a casual hangout boot for everyday wear" and "a foundation for streetwear culture," according to a press release.

It was worn by Wu-Tang Clan members RZA and Ghostface Killah, as well as the late Notorious BIG, who rapped about the boot, particularly in the black colorway because of its rebellious aesthetic, Footwear News reports.

The six-inch boot "has seen construction sites less and less over its half a century while remaining a foundation for streetwear culture," according to the press release.

Now, to celebrate the boot's 50th anniversary, Timberland has teamed up with CNST:DMNTa program "designed to cultivate talent and expand the creative community," the press release saysto create a capsule collection for the shoe.

The collection will be released Feb. 24. Read the Entire Article
