"We are proud to support these Jeffco nonprofits and their incredible work," says the president and CEO of the Community First Foundation in Denver, which has awarded $350,000 in grants to 18 nonprofits working to increase inclusivity in Jefferson County.
The Denver Channel reports the foundation partnered with the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District in the county to share grant applications so awards could be made before the end of the year.
"Our imagination ignited with the idea to review the SCFD applications where we found 18 organizations doing exceptional work in this area," says Jaime Aguilar, program officer for the Community First Foundation.
The organizations include the Golden History Museum and Park, the Denver Mountain Aires Barbershoppers, the Evergreen Newhills Park and Recreation District, and the Denver Folk Arts Council.
The grants range in amount from $700 to $30,000.
"These organizations are building a community of connections and activism in Jeffco through arts and culture," says Aguilar.
"We want to support this important work."
