Starting this summer, students at Randolph College in Virginia will be able to earn a master's in fine arts in theater.
It's the first such program in the US, per the Roanoke Times, and the dean of graduate studies and innovation says it's designed "to address how to create safe workplaces in the theater community and how to address issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion, the sorts of topics that are really 'hot button' in the theater world right now."
The program's director,Stephane Holladay Earl, tells the Times that students will focus on acting, directing, and design, and will be required to go out into the community to "make theater."
