Anita's Room - new creative space at Brighton's Dome

The UK's Brighton Dome is undergoing a major renovation, and one part of the project is a dedicated space for artists.

Anita's Room is named in honor of Dame Anita Roddick, the activist and founder of The Body Shop, reports the Guardian.

The room, which will be part of the Corn Exchange and Studio Theatre, will be fully equipped with a lighting grid, mixing desk, and the latest 5G technology.

It will also offer opportunities for audiences to observe and learn first-hand about artistic practice.

"Throughout history, especially through turbulent times like these, art provides a refuge and an escape from daily hardships," says Roddick's daughter, ine.

"Art gives us hope, important messages, documents moments in time and brings us together."

Anita's Room will be available for free to Brighton Dome associates, resident artists, visiting performing artists, community participation, and creative learning activities.
