Indigenous Program at Sundance Film Festival

The next Sundance Film Festival will feature an Indigenous short film tour that will include screenings in four US states, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The 91-minute Indigenous Short Film Tour, which debuted at last year's festival, "is a celebration of Native perseverance and an exciting look at a variety of inventive storytelling from Indigenous artists with Sundance ties," the festival said in a statement.

The tour will include six short films directed by Indigenous filmmakers, as well as alumni of Sundance's Indigenous Program, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

"Through our work, we emulate our core values of decolonizing the screen and uplifting the voices of Indigenous artists, recognizing that telling their stories comes with great responsibility and obligation towards Indigenous peoples, communities, and their sovereignty," the festival said.
