Officials from the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina stated that they have provided $685,000 to 37 non-profit organizations led and/or served by blacks in the three-county area to support innovation, creativity and fostering increased resilience is in the black community.

Facebook chose the Coastal Community Foundation to provide this opportunity because it intends to promote racial equality in coastal South Carolina through scholarships, grants, advocacy and internal practices, officials said.

According to the foundation, the $1 million Facebook grant also supports four specific initiatives designed to provide more opportunities for black communities and their leaders:

Ganesh Natarajan is the Founder and Chairman of 5FWorld, a new platform for funding and developing start-ups, social enterprises and the skills eco-system in India. In the past two decades, he has built two of India’s high-growth software services companies – Aptech and Zensar – almost from scratch to global success.
