Disney awarded a $100,000 grant to the Wharton Center for Performing Arts to bring Disney Musical into the schools. Wharton is one of only 4 organizations in the country to partner with Disney for this grant and project.
Wharton chose 4 elementary schools to partner with them and Disney. The after school program will provide students with all the support they need to put on a full stage show at no expense to the school.
The school will have a 17 week program to get the shows ready. The program will end with the kids putting on a performance of a Disney musical.
The grant will cover an additional year of programming, so that 4 more elementary schools will be served next school year.
